A Week Of Miracles

We are still reeling from our experience over the past week when we were away in the villages of Guatemala translating for a team that was here serving with the International Ministry of Healing.  We are trying to get our minds to catch up to what happened and quite honestly, we may never be able to fully put into words the impact it has had on our spiritual growth and the impact it will have on our ministry moving forward.  How would you respond if we told you in all sincerity that we saw the blind receive sight, the deaf receive hearing, and the lame receive the ability to walk?  This is what we saw first hand while translating for this team.

I know, it seems out of this world, right?  Well, it still does for us…because it is!  We were able to witness the unleashing of heaven on earth.  We all know the Lord’s Prayer, right?  In Matthew 6 Jesus instructs His disciples how to pray and He says, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.”  In heaven (the eternal presence of God), there is no sickness, no pain, nor death!  We read the testimony of Jesus’ life on earth and we see Him casting out demons, healing the sick, and even bringing the dead back to life.  So then, if God’s desire is that His will be done on earth as it is in heaven, why are we surprised by miraculous healing and deliverance?  This is what we learned this past week.

It was interesting for us to experience the testing of our faith in this way.  Many times when Jesus healed someone, He followed it with, “your faith has made you well.”  Sometimes it seemed “too easy” for us.  People would come up and tell us they have pain somewhere in their body or just that they couldn’t see out of one eye because of cataracts and after a 30 second laying on of hands and petition to God for healing, the ailment was gone and with a simple, “thank you” they walked away.  We would stop them and ask, “are you sure you are healed?” “Yes,” they would say, with more faith than we had!  It truly was amazing to see God work and His Spirit flow the way it did.  We also encountered some towns with a lot of demonic oppression, both externally and internally of people.  We learned a lot about the power of God and how even in these seemingly bleak and grim circumstances, God’s power is all that is needed and it is unleashed by our trust in Him for what He says.  Below are some pics so you can see what I am talking about.

Here are some more pics of us in action:

And if all that wasn't cool enough, I got to be a tree for the illustration of Jesus calling Zacchaeus down for supper!
